How does YouTube Whitelist work?

Updated by the DraikoTune team.

Rights Protection and Flexibility on YouTube

The "Whitelist" is an essential tool for artists and labels who want to allow specific YouTube channels to use their music without triggering automatic copyright claims (Content ID). This is ideal for collaborations with influencers, secondary brand channels, or paid promotions where the video needs to stay free of restrictions.

Benefits of the Whitelist

  • Avoid Content ID Claims: Lets authorized channels publish your music without YouTube's system automatically blocking or monetizing the video in favor of the label.
  • External Monetization: The whitelisted channel owner can monetize their own video if agreed upon, making commercial deals and sponsorships easier.
  • Creative Freedom: Your collaborators can upload content without fear of copyright strikes that could hurt their channel's health.

Eligibility Requirements

For our support team to process the whitelisting of a channel, the following criteria must be met:

  • Subscription Tier: This feature is an advanced tool and is only available to users with an active Labels Plan. Free and Pro plans don't have access to whitelist management.
  • Distributed Content: The tracks must already be distributed and active in DraikoTune's Content ID system.

We're happy to share that our Whitelist system has been updated to offer full coverage across the industry's most important platforms. In addition to YouTube, this service now includes claim protection and release on SoundCloud, Facebook, and TikTok. To ensure your catalog's security, every request is thoroughly verified using your email and user ID. Please note this feature is an exclusive advanced management tool: if your account is on the free plan or Pro Plan, your request cannot be processed. This option is exclusively available to users with an active Labels Plan.
